Trees are our passion!

Boom & Bonheur, or rather its German predecessor Lappen, was founded in 1894 on the Lower Rhine and is now one of the top 5 companies in Europe. Whether green open spaces, urban façade greening, botanical parks, private gardens or magnificent avenues in Germany, France, England, Sweden, Switzerland, Ukraine, Russia or the Benelux countries – it is often our trees that provide people with air, shade and peace.

In 2021 Lappen was purchased by the Overlack family and continued under a new name “Baum & Bonheur”. With this takeover, the Dutch company “Lappen Boomkwekerij B.V.” was acquired. In 2022 this Dutch sister company has been renamed “Boom & Bonheur” and the future will be shaped independently in the Dutch- and native-English speaking markets.  Whitin the group around 140 employees cultivate over 300,000 trees and specimen trees on 650 hectares of open land.

This means that customers can choose from a wide range of high-quality plants: from avenue trees to specimen trees or hand-molded plants, from shrubs to imposing large trees. Through regular selection, replanting and pruning, the trees and shrubs are prepared to grow quickly and sustainably once they have been planted at their destination.

The nursery offers public clients, landscape architects and garden and landscaping companies a wide range of high-quality plants in traditional or modern forms – in geometric, strict growth or individually grown with an expressive habit.

We offer our customers a complete range of plants from a single source. By picking up on new trends and varieties, we have our finger on the pulse of time. Our sophisticated logistics concept has the optimum solution for every requirement.
